Chad Smith: Drummer Extraordinaire

I will admit that I was secretly hoping that John Frusciante would make a surprise appearance with Chad at the London International Music Show 2008 but of course, I'm never that lucky! Nevertheless, Matt and I were lucky enough to see Chad's amazing drummer showcase and meet the man himself (well, sort of). Read all about it on my Gigs & Concerts page.

P.S. 2 blog updates in a week, shocking I know! Maybe I'm not that much of a lazy cow after all.

UPDATE: I've now posted a short clip of Chad yelling at the security guard!

Updates

I know I can't quite believe it either. I found the inspiration, time and inclination to update the blog!

The much promised blog on Mauritius is now up and running so click on My Travels or here.

Also, about a month ago, Matt and I caught the Kings of Cheese, Matchbox Twenty. Rob is still as corny as ever, and Kyle Cook, well, I coudn't recognise him, he's turned into an old man. Anyway, click Gigs & Concerts or here to go straight to it.

Now I have to muster up the energy to blog on Genting, Vienna, Bratislava and Chris Rock. I wouldn't hold your breath if I were you.

The Last Fight?

Rock n roll isn't dead, as Velvet Revolver proved on Tuesday night. But it may just well be that Velvet Revolver are on their dying legs... who knows! So perhaps I caught them on what could be their final tour, and now you, yes you, can read all about it here

P.S. Mauritius blog coming soon!

The First Gig of 2008

Queens of the Stone Age on a Monday? Yup, I am hardcore. Read all about it here.

P.S. Yes, I know I did say I would blog on Mauritius. But I haven't. Bite me.

Au Revoir 2007 Salut 2008!

2007 is coming to an end and it has been an interesting year. Career-wise, I was in the doldrums for a long time as my job-hunting was going nowhere, but I tend to believe those Guinness adverts that assure me that good things come to those who wait because I am now in a new and much better job. Big corporate giants and their advertising teams wouldn't lie to me and this is the proof.

2007 has also been a great year for concerts and if you've been following my blog updates religiously, well, for one, I would wonder about your mental health but, secondly, you would have no doubt noticed that I've been to quite a few gigs this year. The highlights for me were Chris Cornell at The Roundhouse, Kasabian at Somerset House and Live Earth. My final gig of 2007 was The Chemical Brothers this past Thursday and it was a great gig to end the 2007 concert-going experience with. Read all about The Chemical Brothers (and the aforementioned gigs) on my Gigs & Concerts page.
In terms of 2008, so far I have Queens of the Stone Age and Velvet Revolver to look forward to, so here's hoping that Scott Weiland stays the hell out of jail until after 25 March 2008!!.

I will blog on my Mauritius trip shortly. Blogger is really pissing me off by not allowing me to upload any pictures and I am not about to spend all night fighting a losing battle. I'm just going to blame the weather. And Bush, because everyone blames Bush.

What a Foo-kin nice band

Who's a pretty drummer then?

Dave Grohl is nice, Taylor Hawkins is really friggin' cute and, to be honest with you, I'm not really sure who else is in The Foo Fighters (I guess I could look it up but I'm not going to) but it really doesn't matter. I caught the nicest rock band in the world (officially) on the last night of their current tour this year and did they live up to expectations? Well, mosey on to my Gigs & Concerts page and all will be revealed.

Holidays and Heroes

No one can accuse me of sitting on my lazy ass all weekend. Not only did I go visit Swansea, Mumbles and the Gower Peninsula, I also got to meet my favourite horror director, Eli Roth (that's me with that handsome devil in that picture).

You can read all about my trip on My Travels page.

As for my meeting with the lovely Eli Roth, I have decided to create a new section titled "Meeting My Heroes" (see menu on the right) which is all about, erm, yeah meeting my heroes (I am aware how corny this sounds). Anyway, on this page, I've blogged on my experiences of meeting some of the people I have always admired (so far these are U2, Roddy Doyle, Wong Kar Wai, Jessica Lange and of course, Eli Roth). And before you say it, I know the title can be a bit misleading because technically I've only properly met 2 out of the 5 listed, but what you gonna do, sue me?

Enjoy!

This shit is bananas!

Holy cow! Me and Sathish were only a few feet away from the hotness that is Gavin Rossdale and the cuteness that is Kingston Rossdale at Gwen Stefani's concert at Wembley Arena over the weekend! Read about it on my Other Gigs and Concerts or click here!

Updates!

It's been a busy, crappy few weeks at work hence I have slacked with the blog updates. I know, how could I??

Anyway, I've finally blogged on my trip to Brussels so click on My Travels to read about the mussels and Tin Tin...

I've also been to a few great concerts, namely Tool, Prince and Chris Cornell [NOW UPDATED WITH MORE JUICY STUFF!] and a few not so great gigs, namely The Electric Gardens Festival and 10 Reasons To Live. All can be found on my Other Gigs and Concerts page.

Also, since the number of Kasabian gigs I've been to has surpassed U2, I decided to create a Kasabian Gigs page. Whilst transferring the entries, all comments were lost so I do apologise!

Enjoy!!

Yet ANOTHER Kasabian gig

I should just rename this blog "All the Kasabian gigs I have been to and intend to go to until the day I die".

By some weird twist of fate, I managed to secure guestlist tickets at the 11th hour for Kasabian's gig at the iTunes Festival and what a night it was. Click on the Other Gigs & Concerts link for my review!

P.S. Trip to Brussels will be blogged on shortly.
